Kadai Paneer is  a popular mouth watering recipe of North India. It can be served with plain roti, tandoori roti, naan or rice. We have prepared this recipe without using any milk cream (malai) to keep it light and healthy.


  1. Paneer (Cottage cheese)
  2. Onion (Pureed)
  3. Tomato
  4. Ginger-Garlic Paste
  5. Red Chili
  6. Coriander Powder
  7. Garam Masala
  8. Turmeric Powder
  9. Bay Leaf
  10. Cloves
  11. Cinnamon
  12. Coriander Leaves
  13. Ghee
  14. Salt to Taste

Preparation Steps

  1. Heat ghee in a kadai and saute the cottage cheese pieces till golden brown
  2.  Soak these pieces of cooked paneer in 5 cups of water
  3. Take the same pan used to saute paneer and add some bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger garlic paste and some spoons of onion paste. Saute the mixture well till it gets lightly golden in color
  4.  Now, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and little water. Mix it well and allow to boil for some time
  5. Add tomato puree and pieces of paneer kept aside to the boiling mixture and mix again
  6. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for around five minutes till the oil of surfaces
  7. Add some salt as per your need and garnish the dish with few coriander leaves
  8. Delicious kadai paneer recipe is ready to be served hot.
