Hello everyone! Myself Harmeet Kaur Nijjar, the cook and photographer behind Cook With Emotion. I have started this blog/website to share with you my passion for cooking and my recipes. Lots of us try to make an excuse that we do not know cooking. There is nobody in this world who knows cooking by birth. Cooking is not at all tough for anyone to learn. We all can learn it just like we learned all other things. Our life is so busy nowadays. We hardly get any time to cook fresh food for ourselves all the time. We have chosen to be dependent on fast food more than freshly cooked food.

Peda or pera is a popular sweet dish that is traditionally prepared form milk solids known as mawa or khoya. When the milk is simmered for long hours, it turns into khoya. But, if you are in hurry, then you can try our instant peda recipe using milk powder.

Ingredients for peda recipe using milk powder

  1. White Chana Without Skin (100 grams)
  2. One Small Cup Suji (Roasted Semolina)
  3. Everyday Milk Powder (50 Grams)
  4. Powdered Sugar (Two Spoons)
  5. Dry Fruits (Of Your Choice)
  6. Milk ( Five Spoons)

Instructions for homemade peda recipe

  1. Put suji (semolina), white chana, milk powder, and sugar in a jar of a mixer grinder and grind for two minutes.
  2. Take the mixture in a bowl and slowly add five spoons of milk to make dough.
  3. Make pedas from the mixture. Usually, the shape of the pedas is round and flat, as you can see in the image. But, you can always experiment when you are in the kitchen. You can always give square or triangular shape to these pedas and break the monotony.
  4. In addition, you can also use some dry fruits like almonds and cashews to garnish the pedas.
