Tofu Gravy Recipe


In the tofu gravy recipe, the main ingredient is tofu, which is prepared from condensed soy milk. It is easily available in the market these days and is naturally gluten-free. In addition, tofu is a good source of calcium and iron. Moreover, the ingredient is good for the heart as it contains no cholesterol and offers low calories.


  1. 200 gm Tofu (Cut into cubes)
  2. 1/2 Cup Green Peas
  3. 3 Onion
  4. 2 Tomato
  5. 15 cloves of Garlic
  6. 1 Green Chili
  7. 1 tbsp Ginger (Grated)
  8. 1 tbsp Red Chili
  9. 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  10. 1 tbsp Garam Masala
  11. 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  12. 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  13. 2 tbsp Oil
  14. 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped)
  15. Salt to Taste

Instructions for Tofu Gravy Recipe

  1. Make the paste of Onions and take it in a bowl. Then make the paste of tomatoes.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, fry for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add grated garlic and ginger. Then add onion paste. Fry until it becomes golden brown.
  4. Add tomato paste. Stir for 3-4 minutes. Then add all the spices to this masala.
  5. Add 3-4 cups of water and green peas.
  6. Now close the pressure cooker and cook for about 15 minutes at low flame.
  7. Turn off the nob. Now, wait for couple of minutes so that entire steam has oozed out of the cooker.
  8. Open the lid of the cooker and add tofu. Cook for another 5 to 10 minutes on a low flame.
  9. Serve it hot with roti or naan.
